Hello Madhulatha, I am afraid that you are quest for getting a Seat in the branch of CSE while having ranking of 35000 in JEE Mains examination is not going to be difficult. This is so because there are just about 40000 seeds in total across all the NITs and GFTIs and equivalent institutes. Out of these seats, the quota for OBC NCL at 27% will indicate that there are about 1600 seats for this category. In addition to this almost every student gives this branch as the first choice, and you have about 35000 students from OBC NCL ahead of you and finding for a very small number of seats. But then admission process sometimes throws up many surprising results and hence if you qualified the cut off percentile that will be declared by National testing agency then you must take part in the admission process. Hello Shravani Nirmale, you have scored excellently well in JEE Mains examination as per the results that you have posted. Scoring anything about a percentile of 85 is definitely and excellent achievement. Be that as it may it will not help you in getting admission in any college in Pune or Mumbai. This is because all the colleges in Maharashtra have to accept the rankings obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the government of Maharashtra called MHT CET. Of course, a very small percentage of seeds in majority of colleges are reserved for what is called as all India quota and this is filled up based on the ranking of JEE Mains examination. I am sure you would have appeared for this exam also and if you have scored above percentile of 85 in JEE Mains examination then you will definitely do exceedingly well in MHT CET also. Hello Sujit Mondal, if I may say so you are ranking in SC category at about 13000 is perhaps not good enough to get you a SEED in any NIT or GFTI. I am saying this because of the following calculations for your benefit. All the national level institutes accepting the rankings of JEE Mains examination have a total of just about 40000 seats. With reservations for SC category at 15% the number of seats come to about 6000 across India. Does with the above explanation you can see for yourself as to where you stand vis-a-vis seats available for SC category. In view of the four going, I would rather such as that you can take 1 year off from studies etc. and devote this time for preparing for this exam next year once again with the hope of getting a much better ranking within your categories and as a result or seat in the major or the famous NITs across the country. The total number of seats in NIT and related institutes which accept JEE Mains examination score at the national level like IIIT etc. Is just about 40000. With OBC NCL reservation at 27%, the maximum seats that can I crew under this category is at just about 11000. So, you can SEE for yourself us to where you stand in this category. But do not lose hope since admission process many times throws up surprising results. Alternatively, you can think off taking 1 year off and utilising this period exclusively for preparing for this examination and hoping to get ranking under OBC NCL of about 5000 or better.
