Hello Manish,
According to the eligibility criteria for JEE paper 2, the minimum percentage required for getting admission in various IITs, NITs, and CFTIs is 75%. You are still eligible to appear in exam and you can use your marks in JEE paper 2 to get admission in other good colleges of India. So don't give up.

In India, it's not possible to jump branch. For doing PG in Aeronautical engineering, you need to have done graduation in that branch.

GATE is an entrance exam for doing PG in engineering. Eligibility for this is Graduation in engineering. Since you have done B Sc, you are not eligible to appear for GATE.

Hello Dhruv,
IIT, Chennai, is the top-ranked institute as per some reports. Also if the reports are correct it was the second preference choice of many students after IIT, Mumbai. So, for sureshot admission, you should try to obtain rank in top 100.
