Hi, Securing an SC rank of 400 in JEE Advanced typically corresponds to a Common Rank List (CRL) position between 5,000 and 7,000. Achieving this rank generally requires a score between 150 and 165 marks.

Thanks.

This gives a rank of 169470 in the General category, which is unlikely to give a seat in B.Tech Computer Science in any NIT or IIIT. The closing rank for IIITs usually is below 10,000 for Computer Science programs; some of the institutions are IIIT Gwalior, whose cutoff is at around 11,494. So, other engineering colleges or private institutions can be looked into that would accept higher ranks for admissions.

With a percentile of 94.38 in JEE Mains 2024 and a total of 14 Lacs students appearing for the exam, your approximate All India Rank (AIR) would be around 78,680. Given the OBC category relaxation, your expected OBC category rank would range between 39,340 and 47,208, which is typically around 50-60% of your overall rank. These are approximate figures and could vary depending on the final distribution of scores and candidates.

Securing a place in the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch at prestigious universities like Amrita's main campuses (Coimbatore or Bangalore) may be difficult for someone with an AEEE score of 21,000. However, in less competitive categories or at Amrita's outlying campuses, you might still have a chance. Although they cost more, colleges may also provide management quota seats. Rankings can change, therefore it's best to look at the prior year's cutoffs for certain campuses and categories. To improve your chances of admission, think about applying to several campuses or branches.
