The admissions to the B.E./B.Tech programmes in Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology are through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) every year using marks obtained in Standard Xll. However, students can also opt for management seat where students can directly get admitted without having to take part in TNEA counseling process. Management quota admitted students have to fulfill certain academic standards; the fee may be slightly higher than that of TNEA.

The process of TNEA registration mostly starts in May every year and the applications runs for about a month. The merit list is displayed in June while counseling is done in July and August. The application to the B.Tech programs of many institutes spread throughout India is generally done through the JEE Main; similarly, DSEU would be. No special mention has been done of a date for the result of JEE Main for Okhla II Campus of DSEU. As this university falls under the public institutes of Delhi, this is most probably to be covered under the centralized admission procedure after the scores have been achieved in JEE Main.
