Yes, you can get into the Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University in Dhanbad without JEE for B.Tech programme. The eligibility criteria for getting into the University is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate score of 45% for unreserved category with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects. Generally JEE Mains question paper is considered to be tougher than the CUSAT CAT question paper. The level of toughness depends on several factors such as preparation, time allotted, type of questions, exam pattern, etc. Candidates can get a better idea of dificuty level of the exam by solving the question papers themselves. As per the normal views, The JEE Mains question papers consists of questions complex in nature and more calculatiion ans advance maths driven on the other hand CUSAT CAT questions are generally bit simpler and less calculative. NIT Meghalaya is a public technical university established in Shillong, Meghalaya, India in 2010. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya accepts GATE scores for admission to its M. Tech courses. The GATE cutoff for NIT Meghalaya varies depending on the year and the specialization. The closing scores in the last round of the GATE cutoff 2024 ranged from 398 to 352 in the General AI category. The last round closing rank for M. Tech ranged from 356 to 424. The minimum GATE cutoff 2023 for M. Tech in CSE was 356. A score range of 600 to 700 is considered to be a good score.

The closing rank for NITs in the JEE Main exam varies by the category and the course. The cutoffs for NITs are released after each round of JoSAA counseling. The closing rank at NIT Delhi for the General AI category ranged from 8018 to 27045. B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most difficult course to get into. At NIT Agartala, the closing ranks for top specializations are expected to be between 16,289 and 32,958. At NIT Jalandhar, the cutoffs for 2024 were concluded after the release of the Round 6 Seat Allotment Result. Candidates should have a percentile between 85 to 95 to get NIT seats.

GATE rank is the position or rank secured by the candidate in the examination. The rank will be offered to the candidate based on his/her performance in the GATE exam. The higher the marks, the higher will be the rank. Candidates with higher rank can get the opportunity to apply for top institutions, such as IITs and IISc. The GATE rank will be mentioned on the scorecard.

Some GATE papers are conducted in multiple shifts, and the difficulty level of the paper may vary for different shifts. In such case, the GATE conducting authorities use the normalisation method to make it fair for everyone. The difference between the GATE actual marks and normalised marks is as follows -

GATE Actual Marks 

  • The GATE actual marks are calculated out of 100 for 65 questions

  • For each correct answer, 1 or 2 marks will be awarded.

  • For incorrect responses, 1/3 or 2/3 marks are deducted.

  • No marks are deducted for numerical aptitude questions (NAT) and multiple select questions (MSQ).
