A safe score to get into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) through JEE Main is typically above the 97 to 98 percentile. This percentile range is crucial for securing admission to top branches like Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Electronics at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Candidates aiming for these sought-after branches and institutes need to target a percentile range of 97 to 98 to have a strong chance of admission based on current trends and expectations.
