In order to apply for BSc courses at IIT Kharagpur, a candidate must first appear for JEE Advanced. The steps to apply for JEE Advanced is as follows:
- Authenticate using JEE Main details, JEE roll no and D.O.B, and Login
- Fill the registration form
- Upload a scanned copy of required documents such as Class 10 and 12 marksheet, category certificate, JEE Mains scorecard

IIT Kharagpur admits students to its BSc courses on the basis of JEE Advanced marks. Thus, interested candidates must register and appear for JEE Advanced exam. The fee for JEE Advanced exam is INR 1,600 for all female, SC, ST and PwD candidates. For all other candidates, application fee is INR 3,200.
