For Physics, candidates can refer to: NCERT Class 11 and 12 Textbooks, Concepts of Physics (Vol. 1 and 2) by HC Verma, Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker and Problems in General Physics by I.E Irodov.
For Maths, candidates should refer to the NCERT Class 11 and 12 Textbooks and Objective Mathematics by RD Sharma.
For Chemistry, candidates can check books like NCERT Textbooks for classes 11 and 12, Modern Approach to Chemical Calculations by RC Mukherjee, and Organic Chemistry by OP Tandon.

As per many experts, JEE Main 2026 exam held in session 1 was the toughest in recent history.
Chemistry was the easiest subject and NCERT based. It was lengthy and tricky this year.
Maths was the toughest, and physics was also moderate to tough. Overall paper was lengthy, and candidates found it difficult to manage time and complete paper on time.

A good score in JEE Main 2026 will be the score that either qualifies you for JEE Advanced or for admission to NIT/IIIT/GFTI of your choice.

No, GATE questions are not exactly repeated. However, the concept, core, and question format may remain the same. Therefore, candidates must focus on concept-building and practice GATE PYQs as many times as possible. In addition, solve mock test paper to improve accuracy and time management.

Yes, GATE has negative marking for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. In GATE question paper, MCQs will be of one and two marks. Hence, the marking scheme for such questions can be checked below -
- For one mark MCQ - 1/3rd mark will be deducted
- For two mark MCQ - 2/3rd mark will be deducted

After appearing for JEE Main exam conducted by NTA in online mode, wait for NIT Jamshedpur to release the cutoff list. If you meet the cutoff marks, you can participate in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment. Once you receive a seat, report to the institute and pay the admission fee to confirm your seat in the NIT Jamshedpur BTech program.
