AKTU cutoff for BTech is based on JEE Main scores. AKTU Counselling 2023 for BTech has been concluded after the release of Round 8 Seat Allotment for AKTU JEE Mains cutoff. The University offers admission to BTech courses through the affiliated colleges. Of all the courses, BTech in Computer Science Engineering has emerged as the most competitive course to be offered at the affiliated colleges including JSS Academy of Technical Education, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Noida. Those who meet the GATE requirements may apply to the M.Tech program. For non-GATE students, admission will be determined by KIITEE score, with counseling to follow. Those who meet the GATE qualifying requirements and score 400 or higher are exempt from taking the entrance exam. The M.Tech programme costs INR 5.43 Lacs in total.

Candidates may also be those with B.Tech. equivalent credentials, such as AMIE or GRADE-IETE. Students with an M.Sc. or MCA degree are also eligible to apply, as long as they have a first-class degree.

Students wishing to apply for hostel have to pay an additional amount. NIT Durgapur does have mess service for which students need to pay a separate charge.

GATE conduction date usually falls in February for each academic cycle. IIScB is the organising authority and conducts the exam. The exam will be conducted online as CBT for 29 papers. Candidates must solve 65 questions in 3 hours. The GATE  syllabus includes general aptitude and the core discipline, carrying a weightage of 15% and 85% respectively.
