If you are from a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), you have a good chance of getting into a government college. Most government colleges end at 10,000, so to get a government college and a good stream, you should try to get a rank below 5,000.
Here are some other tips for getting into a government college:
Focus on your preparation and try to score a decent rank within 3,000 (general)
Seats in all Government and Government Sponsored Polytechnics are reserved for candidates of Land Looser Category and have valid JEXPO rank

A rank of 3525 in the IMUCET may not be enough to get into a government college:
Indian Maritime University, Navi Mumbai: The overall cutoff for 2022 was 5063–6715
Indian Maritime University, Chennai: The overall cutoff for 2022 was 5–1349
IMU Visakhapatnam: The overall cutoff for 2024–2025 was 2–1804
Some say that a rank within 25,000 is considered good. Others say that a rank of 4000 is good and will get you your choice of branch at any IMU campus.
To pass the IMUCET exam, candidates must:
Score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent exams

The eligibility criteria for BTech admissions at the Amrita School of Engineering Chennai campus is that candidates should have a minimum of 55% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately. Further, the candidate should also have a minimum of 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.?

Punjabi University offers a full-time BCA course. Candidates need to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the course. The eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% in aggregate from any stream from a recognised board. IIT Jodhpur BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 2798 and, 15166 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is, 2798 for the General AI category.
