It is highly unlikely that a candidate with 58 percentile in the JEE Main 2023 first session (General category) will qualify for JEE Advanced as the cutoff for JEE Advanced varies each year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available. The final cutoff for JEE Advanced is decided after the second session of JEE Main and it may vary from year to year. It is advisable to wait for the official cutoff announcement by the organizing body after the second session of JEE Main. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind that the JEE Advanced exam is extremely competitive, and candidates are required to score exceptionally well to secure a rank and admission into a top engineering institute in India.

Hello Madhulatha, I am afraid that you are quest for getting a Seat in the branch of CSE while having ranking of 35000 in JEE Mains examination is not going to be difficult. This is so because there are just about 40000 seeds in total across all the NITs and GFTIs and equivalent institutes. Out of these seats, the quota for OBC NCL at 27% will indicate that there are about 1600 seats for this category. In addition to this almost every student gives this branch as the first choice, and you have about 35000 students from OBC NCL ahead of you and finding for a very small number of seats. But then admission process sometimes throws up many surprising results and hence if you qualified the cut off percentile that will be declared by National testing agency then you must take part in the admission process. Else you can also think of taking 1 year off and utilising this time for concentrated studies so that by next year you would be getting much better ranking in JEE Mains examination and as a result you can get your decide branch. Hello Shravani Nirmale, you have scored excellently well in JEE Mains examination as per the results that you have posted. Scoring anything about a percentile of 85 is definitely and excellent achievement. Be that as it may it will not help you in getting admission in any college in Pune or Mumbai. This is because all the colleges in Maharashtra have to accept the rankings obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the government of Maharashtra called MHT CET. Of course, a very small percentage of seeds in majority of colleges are reserved for what is called as all India quota and this is filled up based on the ranking of JEE Mains examination. I am sure you would have appeared for this exam also and if you have scored above percentile of 85 in JEE Mains examination then you will definitely do exceedingly well in MHT CET also.
