Think of JoSAA as a matching service. After your JEE Advanced results, you'll log into the JoSAA portal and rank your preferred branches at IIT Dharwad. The system then looks at your All India Rank (AIR) and your choices to offer you the best possible seat. Once a seat is offered, you'll pay the fees online and complete a virtual reporting process to lock in your spot before heading to the campus.

While clearing JEE Main is a huge achievement, it's actually just the first hurdle for IITs. JEE Main acts as a qualifying test that allows the top 2.5 Lacs candidates to sit for JEE Advanced. To get into IIT Dharwad, your final seat allocation will be based strictly on your JEE Advanced rank. JEE Main scores are used for admissions to NITs and IIITs, but for any IIT, Advanced is the key.

Actually, no! You don't apply to the institute directly at the start. Your journey begins on the JEE Main portal, followed by a second application for JEE Advanced if you qualify. The final "application" happens through the JoSAA portal, where you list IIT Dharwad as one of your preferred choices. It's a centralized process, so you only physically deal with the college once your seat is officially confirmed.

Once the results are live in mid-June, the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling begins. This is the most critical phase where you'll list IIT Dharwad as your preference. The counselling runs through several rounds from late June to July. You'll need to be available during these weeks to freeze your seat, upload documents, and pay the seat acceptance fee online to lock in your spot.

Congratulations! After JEE Main, register for JEE Advanced, which is the only way to get into an IIT. This registration usually happens in late April or early May, with the exam itself scheduled for late May. This is a very tight window, so keep a close eye on the official portal right after your Main results are out to ensure you don't miss the deadline.

A rank of 2K can get you a seat at DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, if you belong to the General AI category. This category had the overall cutoff ranging between 89472 and 147188. Hence, admission with a rank of 2K can be possible. Students should know that the cutoff for other categories will vary accordingly.

It starts with JEE Main registration, which opens around November. The first JEE Main session is held in January-February, you must keep your documents ready by the end of the previous year. If you miss the first window, don't worry, you can still register for the second session of JEE Main in April. Please note that most students prefer to attempt both to improve their scores.

At the time of admission, you pay a one-time fee of roughly INR 6,500 that covers admission processing, identity cards, and alumni membership; these are non-refundable. However, the INR 11,000 caution deposit (which includes library and institute security) is fully refundable after you complete your four-year course. You will also pay an annual medical insurance premium of approximately INR 1,500 to ensure on-campus healthcare coverage.

Yes, IIT Dharwad does provide fee remission on the basis of family income-
If your annual family income is less than INR 1 Lakh, your entire tuition fee is waived off
If your family income is between INR 1 - 5 Lakhs, you have to pay only 1/3rd of the tuition fee.
It is important to note that waivers apply only to the tuition fee. You would need to pay the hostel, mess, development and other charges.
