Environmental engineering is a better option, as the scope for this field is increasing rapidly day by day.

I don't think environment engineering is a good career to pursue in India as very less work about environment is done here. While IITs will definitely give you a promising career and life but I cannot say how much you will enjoy it. You may then thin about giving Indian Forest Service exam through UPSC.
