The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing B.A. (Hons.) (Economics) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board of the country.
Some universities give preference to the students having economics in class 12 but Ranchi University is not one of them.

Yes, you can apply for B.A(Hons.) social science/ arts only criteria is you must pass 12th with aggregate more than 50% of all subject and your age should be less than 22 years for SC/ST candidates. There is no minimum marks criteria for PH and OBC category 5% relaxation is offered. All the best.

After 12th, there are many fields to choose. Firstly, give a regional CET exam so that the marks you get in that will give you a good picture about your career.
