Most comparable exams to KCET are normally state other level engineering entrance examination in India. These are the exams such as COMEDK UGET ( again in Karnataka, but in the private institutes), MHT CET (Maharashtra), WBJEE (West Bengal), Andhra Pradesh EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh), and TS EAMCET (Telangana). Their structure is more or less the same, covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology in some streams), of MCQ nature and of the same level of difficulty in order to get admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in their respective states.

With a JEE Main rank between 8 to 9 lakh, your chances for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA/CSAB are extremely low, even with reserved categories. However, you can still get into decent private and state engineering colleges—especially if you make use of state counselling, private university entrance routes, and some lower-tier institutions.

It will require a very high JEE Advanced rank to get admissions in an IIT. In the top IITs (e.g Bombay, Delhi) popular branches such as Computer Science Engineering (CSE) may require an All India Rank (AIR) of below 100-200 in the General category. In other faculty members and newer IITs ranks can go up to 10,000 or more depending upon the institute, course or degree. These cut offs vary every year depending on the difficulty level of the exam, applicants and seats.

On different educational websites and on the official portal of the university, there is the possibility of ordering free CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test) practice papers with answers. Various web-sites such as  SelfStudys and CollegeBatch.com usually offer old year question papers and sample mocks with elaborate answers to different CUCET programs (UG and PG). The official Chandigarh University CUCET site (cucet.cuchd.in) also has a section called "Sample Papers" or "Question Papers" so the official materials are also likely to be released there.

The likely JEE Main 2026 cutoff for qualifying JEE Advanced is above 92 percentile for the general category. To gain admission to NITs or IIITs (core branches), target a score of 210–250+ marks, which corresponds to around the 99th percentile.

On many websites, you can get free General Test (GT) mock tests to practise exams such as CUET, competitive government exams (SSC, Bank, Railway), or other aptitude exams. To have official links of mock tests in case of CUET specific GTs, National Testing Agency (NTA) site may have official links of mock. Also, most coaching institutes make sample papers and mock tests available, free of cost, on their websites and searching the web with the term, free CUET General Test mock test or free SSC CGL General Awareness mock test will lead to some good results.

It highly depends on your both ranks,

You must have search if you rank is lower in unreserved ranks or category ranks

If you have lower rank in category rank you must use the category rank in college prediction.

In maximum case the category ranks are much lower than you should use category rank to get the best college

Thank you
