You can get admission to the Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University by qualifying for the university's entrance test or merit criteria for your chosen course.

For BA LLB (5 Year Integrated), you need to pass class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent exam with at least 50% aggregate marks. Maximum age limit is 22 years as of July 1st of the admission year. Admission requires clearing the offline AMU Entrance Exam.

Faculty of Law AMU admission 2026 will commence soon. The Faculty of Law offers BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD in the Law stream. Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, admission is based on merit and entrance. The admission is done in three ways, including entrance test conducted by the university, entrance test conducted by separate departments, and admission based on marks in the last qualifying examination or merit-based.

Faculty of Law AMU offers the following specialisations for candidates wishing to pursue the LLM programme: 

  1. Criminal Law
  2. Constitutional Law
  3. Commercial Law
  4. Family Law
  5. Labour Law

Candidates must choose either of these specialisations while pursuing the LLM course at Faculty of Law AMU. The specialsiation courses help candidates build expertise in the respected field and help them build a career in the same.

Faculty of Law AMU offers a five-year BA-LLB course for candidates who are wishing to build a career in the field of Law. The admission process for the course is entrance based and candidates must appear for the AMU BA-LLB entrance test to participate in the admission process. Direct admission to the course is not possible at Faculty of Law AMU.

The entrance exams accepted by Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University are: 

  • AMU BA LLB Entrance Test: Candidates are taken into the five-year BA-LLB course based on the scores of this entrance exam
  • AMUEE: Candidates applying to LLM must appear for the entrance test to participate in the admission process 

Candidates are required to clear the cutoff to go further in the admission process.

Faculty of Law, AMU is one of the recognised university for carrying out LL.M. The college has a strong faculty with around 20-25 professors and a student-teacher ratio of 10:1. The LL.M programme is a two-year course whose cost is around INR 50,000 to INR 70,000. The college has a reasonable placement record with about 50-60% students placed every year in different organizations. The average salary package that firms offer to the LL.M students is between 4 Lacs and 6 Lacs INR per year. The college also offers research activity and publication services where faculty members produce approximately 10-15 research papers each year.

    The total fee for a 5-year BA LLB course is Rs 405,000 and a separate fee of Rs 195,550 is charged for student hostel.
  2. Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
    The total fee for a 5-year BA LLB course is Rs 11,410.
  3. MNLU Mumbai.
    The total fee for a 5-year BA LLB course is Rs 13,05,000, which includes your tuition fees as well as hostel fees.
  4. Jindal Global Law School (JGLS)
    The total fee for a 5-year BA LLB course is Rs 31.25 lakh. There is no additional fee for the course apart from tuition fees like hostel fees.
