IIT Delhi MTech admission is completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Delhi M.Tech course must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, BTech graduates from IITs with an overall CGPA of 8.00 out of 10 are exempted from GATE and are eligible for direct admissions. Apart from this, candidates are also requested to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria to be eligible for IIT Delhi MTech admission.

GATE is not a prerequisite for applying to SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur's M.Tech programmes. Admission to SRMIST's M.Tech programmes is contingent upon meeting certain requirements, including qualifying exam scores (e.g., 12th grade or equivalent), direct admissions based on academic performance, and results from entrance exams other than SRMJEEE (e.g., JEE Main, SAT, or other national/international entrance exams). GATE is not stated as a prerequisite for SRMIST M.Tech admissions.
