If you are interested in pursuing a career in engineering or technology, GATE exam is the right choice. On the other hand, if you are interested in pursuing a career in Science, then IIT JAM is the better option for admission to IITs. GATE exam conducted by IITs and IISc and the Jam conducted by IITs. Hope this helpful.

There are a few universities in India that offer M.Tech admission without GATE or any entrance exam, based only on the marks obtained in B.Tech. Some of these universities are:

I can provide you with some general information about GATE scores and admissions. A GATE score of 500 in civil engineering may not be sufficient to secure admission to MIT Muzaffarpur or other top-ranked institutes. The admission criteria for each institute may vary based on factors such as the number of available seats, the number of applicants, and the overall performance of the applicants in GATE. Regarding the stipend, some institutes may offer a stipend to students pursuing a Master's degree in engineering based on their performance in the GATE exam and other selection criteria. The amount of the stipend may also vary depending on

It really doesn't matter at all. With experiences of interviews at various PSUs, and IITs, I have came across a lot of people, who tried hard, time and again, to finally seize what they wanted out of GATE. The matter of the fact is, You must justify your stand of taking a 1-year gap. It is because, once you get through with the written exam with great ranks, what awaits you next is something, where you as a person, are judged. Once you give grounds for what you wanted, you can rise better. So, All the best !
