Yes, a valid GRE score is required for securing admission to NYU Tandon. But, GRE scores are only applicable to a select number of courses.
Students are advised to refer the official institute website to get the complete list of courses requiring GRE scores.
A GRE score is optional for students looking to pursue an MS in Computer Science from the institute.

According to the official website of Stanford University, each programme of the university sets its own policy of accepting GRE subject test or GRE General Test. You need to check the official webapge of the programme you want to pursue. When I checked, "GRE is Not considered" was written on most of the course webpages.

There are no GRE requirements for most of the postgraduate courses at the University of Edinburgh. However, some programs may expect a GRE score from international students. GRE is required for applicants without a UK undergraduate degree in economics. There is no specific cutoff but candidates are expected to score at least 161 in the quantitative section of the test.
