Candidates must achieve a minimum of 40 % marks in each paper and secure an overall aggregate of at least 50% in each group. The CS executive exam will be divided into two modules - Moduke I and Module II. As per the CS executive paper pattern, candidates have to solve both objective and descriptive questions.
Marking scheme:
- For descriptive/subjective questions: There is no negative marking
- For objective questions: 0.25 mark to be deducted for each wrong response and 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer.

Yes, you can join the institute of company secretaries of india (ICSI) without taking the ICSI CS exam. To join the ICSI, you must:
- pass the 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
- be at least 17 years old at the time of application
- complete class 12
You can apply for associate membership of the ICSI if you:
- pass the intermediate examination/executive programme examination and final examination / professional programme examination of the institute
- undergo prescribed training or are exempted therefrom on the basis of experience

After the online registration on ICSI and fee payment, the study material is provided to the students. Candidates get eight months to prepare for the entrance exam. In addition, it is compulsory for students to undergo seven days Student Induction Programme (SIP) within six months of registration and before appearing in the CS executive programme. After eight months of the course duration, the candidate can take the exam in any attempt (June or December). Admission to the course is valid for three years and hence, all the students must clear the CS foundation exam within the given period of time.

No, you will not get a physical copy of your ICSI CS examination score. You can download your scorecard online from the ICSI website after the results are announced.

The difficulty level of the ICSI CS Executive exam and Professional exam vary from individual to individual. CS Executive is of moderate difficulty, whereas, CS Professional exam is considered to be difficult.
The Executive programme is the second level and CS Professional is the final level of the CS course and consists of two modules: Module 1 and Module 2.
