IICD Entrance Exam

The IICD result usually includes candidate's name, roll number, total marks, percentage or percentile, and selection status for B.Des, M.Des, or PG Diploma programs.

To check the IICD Result, log in to the official IICD admissions portal using your email ID and password—the result scorecard will be available for download there.

The Personal Interview round at IICD is conducted to evaluate a candidate's overall personality, including their aptitude for crafts, intelligence quotient (IQ), communication skills, general awareness about crafts and design, as well as their achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.

The Material, Color & Conceptual Test evaluates a candidate's ability to use materials creatively and effectively, visualize and construct 3D forms, and handle different materials skillfully. It also tests observation, idea development, and the ability to generate multiple solutions with clear written explanations based on planning and strategy.

Materials to Bring:

Candidates should carry pens, pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), scissors, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, compass, and coloring tools such as color pencils, dry pastels, watercolors, and brushes.

This test aims to assess students' abilities and interests, including size and proportion estimation, observation skills, synthesis, visual interpretation, and general awareness.

The weightage distribution of the tests and interview components in the IICD entrance exam:

A. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test – 35%
B. Material, Color & Conceptual Test – 45%
C. Personal Interview – 20%

While there are no fixed books for IICD Entrance Examination, students can prepare by:

• Practicing design aptitude questions

• Exploring Indian art, craft traditions, textiles, and culture

• Engaging in sketching, model making, and DIY creative projects

• Reading general knowledge content related to sustainability, environment, and society.

The weightage of IICD Entrance Examination is as follows:

• General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test: 35%

• Material, Color & Conceptual Test: 45%

• Personal Interview: 20%

The Application fee for IICD is INR 3,500. The IICD online application fee is Non-Refundable.

Generally, candidates are not allowed to edit or make corrections in the IICD application from after final submission. You must review the form carefully before completing payment and submitting.
