IIIT Allahabad offers in total 5 courses, including BTech, MTech, MBA, Certificate and PhD courses in various specialisations. The duration of these courses range anywhere from six months to five years. Admission to all the courses are entrance-based, except for the certificate courses. 

The admission is entrance-based at the institute. Aspirants are required to apply with a valid score of the course-specific accepted entrance examination in order to apply. The accepted entrance exams are JEE Main, CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT, GATE, etc. Further, the seat allotment process for BTech and MTech is through JoSAA and CCMT counselling, respectively.

IIIT Allahabad cutoff has been released upto JEE Main Counselling Round 8 Seat Allotment result including six rounds of JoSAA Counselling and two Special Rounds of CSAB Counselling. IIIT Allahabad has not announced the placement statistics for the year 2023. However, as per the last placement data, IIIT Allahabad recorded a 100% placement rate for BTech and PG courses. The highest and average packages offered to BTech students stood at INR 125 LPA and INR 30.68 LPA, respectively. For PG (MTech / MBA) courses, the highest and average package stood at INR 60.5 LPA and INR 19.57 LPA, respectively. Although, according to some media reports, the highest package offered during IIIT Allahabad M.Tech placements 2022 stood at INR 1.4 crore per annum from Google.

IIIT Allahabad has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, as per the latest available data, the highest and average package offered during IIIT Allahabad PG (MTech/MBA) placements 2022 stood at INR 60.5 LPA and INR 19.57 LPA, respectively. The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech course at IIIT Allahabad is that the candidate must have a BTech/ MSc in an allied discipline from a recognised university/ institute with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent. The course is available in four main specialisations. The M.Tech specialisations are Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics, Bioinformatics, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Admission to the M.Tech course at IIIT Allahabad is based on scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), followed by CCMT counselling.
