No, you can't get direct admission in IIT Kanpur. The institute only offers entrance-based admissions. Students must meet both the general eligibility and selection requirements to get a seat at the institute. Some of the accepted exams include JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced/ GATE/ IIT JAM, etc.

No, you can't get admission in IIT Kanpur with 60% in Class 12. The institute accepts students who have a minimum of 75% (for general category) in Class 12. Even for the reserved categories, the minimum score is 65%. Hence, 60% is not enough to get admission in IIT Kanpur UG courses.

The next step is to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) since IIT Kanpur uses CAT scores as the main criterion for selecting applicants for further consideration. No, admission to all of IIT Kanpur's courses is solely determined by merit. For BTech entrance, JEE Advanced scores are accepted. To appear for JEE Advanced, candidates must pass the JEE Main exam. The IIT Kanpur provides some dual degree programs in addition to its flagship curriculum. These programs include BSc, BS, MTech, MSc, MDes, and MBA. All course admissions are determined by the results of entrance exams, including the GATE, IIT JAM, CEED, and CAT. IIT Kanpur provides PhD programs in some specializations in addition to UG and PG courses; admission to these programs is once again entrance-based.
