nit surathkal and iit bhubaneshwar are similar in comparison but from quora and other i haven't got the same impression so what you suggest?

NIT-K (Surathkal) is better in terms of placements than IIT Bhubaneswar. Recently IIT Bhubaneswar might get some good placements but NIT-K is much older and have more connections.
