The following IITs have the lowest GATE cutoffs -

• IIT Mandi
• IIT Palakkad
• IIT Tirupati and 
• IIT Dharwad

These IITs mostly offer admission with GATE AIR between 3000 - 5000 ranks (approx) for computer Science and engineering.

There is no one IIT that is consistent with GATE question paper difficulty level. However, based on students and subject experts, it is observed that IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore has a record of setting the toughest GATE question paper so far. Apart from that, IIT Kanpur is also known for setting difficult GATE question paper, especially for EE (electrical engineering) branch. 

Therefore, it is advised to make concepts strong while preparing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. 

IIT JAM question paper comprises 60 questions for 100 marks. The question paper has three sections. Section A has 30 multiple-choice questions. There are 10 multiple select questions in Section B. Section C has 20 numerical answer-type questions.  Negative marking is done for Section A.

After the release of IIT JAM answer key, students can challenge the key in case of an error. The authority will verify the objections and release the final answer key.

IIT Palakkad scores particularly well in Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) and Graduation Outcomes (GO). These metrics highlight the institute's successful placement or higher education transition of its graduating students.

As per the NIRF 2025 Rankings, IIT Palakkad secured the 64th rank in the Engineering category. This position reflects the institute's steady growth in academic and research excellence.

IIT JAM 2026 official website is jam2026.iitb.ac.in. All notifications regarding IIT JAM 2026 will be updated here. Students can use the IIT JAM official website 2026 to check the result, download response sheet and answer key. 

The authority shall release the IIT JAM question paper along with the answer key. The question paper will be available for all seven test papers. Students preparing for the upcoming session can use the question paper for preparation.

Candidates who are appearing in their class 12 exam in 2026 need not provide their mark details while filling the JEE advanced application form. They just need to fill their year of passing class 12 year as 2026. However, they must ensure to score minimum 75% marks in order to be eligibile for admission in IITs.
