A GATE score of 700 to 800 is mainly required for M.Tech admission at IIT (especially for top IITs). However, the score also depends on the IIT popularity, branch popularity, and other factors. For new IITs, a GATE score of 500 to 600 is mainly required. 

It is advised to check the past year's GATE cutoff trends before opting for counselling and admission.

Students can check the response sheet of IIT JAM through JOAPS portal. An email ID and a password are required to access the JOAPS portals.

IIT JAM 2026 syllabus pdf is available on the website, jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The syllabus pdf is available for all seven papers. Students can check the syllabus of IIT JAM to know the important topics for preparation.

IIT Bombay will release the IIT JAM 2026 scorecard online. Students need to provide the JOAPS credentials to download the score card. The scorecard of IIT JAM 2026 will contain the name of candiate, parents/guardian name, registration number, test paper (code), marks scored, All India Rank, number of candidates appeared in the test paper, and cutoff marks category-wise.

IIT Bombay will release the cutoff for IIT JAM 2026 online. Students can check their scorecard to know the minimum qualifying marks for each category. IIT JAM cutoff varies for each paper and student category.

JAM 2027 exam is expected to be held in February 2027. The authority will release the IIT JAM exam date 2027 on the official website.

Completed undergraduate degree or appearing for final exam of qualifying degree in 2026 shall be eligible for IIT JAM 2027. The detailed eligibility criteria for IIT JAM 2027 will be released online.

IIT JAM passing mark varies category wise for each test paper. Students need to check the JAM scorecard to know the minimum passing marks for the test. Candidates belonging to "GEN" category need to score 25+ marks to qualify in the Biotechnology paper and 27+ marks in Chemistry. The minimum passing marks for GEN category are mentioned below.

Yes, but not in IITs, NITs, or IISc. Central Universities offer admission to the MSc degree through CUET PG. Students must appear for the state level or university level entrance exam for admission to the MSc degree.
