For the purpose of Applying for the BSc programme in the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore one requires the minimal of the following: a pass in 10+2 certificate with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. The application procedure is normally through the month of February and normally ends in April. Yes, it's possible to get admission to the BTech programme at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) with a score of 87% in the JEE Mains exam: 
 
  • The common eligibility for the BTech programme at IISc is a 45% aggregate in Class 12. 
     
  • The selection criteria for the BTech programme is JEE Main and JEE Advanced, followed by counseling.

For admission to the BSc programme in Biology at the IISc, the candidates have to face the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) test or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and Advanced. OU considers the scores of these exams for admission into its undergraduate programmes among the disciplines it offers include: KVPY exam takes place every year and hence the cutoff marks also tends to differs every year. IISc has a four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) course in Mathematics and Computing and not a regular B.Tech. The program can be considered to have a very large research component and lays emphasis on the basic mathematics and computer science courses. Looking at the past three years' data (2021 to 2023), year-on-year growth was recorded in the median package offered to BTech/ BSc students. On the other hand, the median packages for PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) courses improved from 2021 to 2022 and for the last two years (2022 and 2023), the amount has been stagnant. See the table below showcasing the IISc Bangalore package trends:

The answer to this question depends on the course you are applying at IISC.

For Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme, aspirants are offered admission based on JEE Main score. Hoewever, for BSc programme admission,  JEE is not compulsory. Candidates with a valid score in IISER Aptitude Test can also get admission. For other courses such as MTech, MSc and PhD, JEE Main is not required for admission at Indian Institute of Science (IISC).
