Switching careers is not advisable, specially when you have been associated in this industry since past 3 years.
If the student is interested in taking his career forward, eligibility for postgraduate programmes will be on the basis of a bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for this course is two years.
However, you can pursue some technical courses in Design like CADD

The first option you have is B.Arch
For this you have to take entrance examination. Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad offers the course.
Lateral entry into engineering courses. After diploma you can take entrance examination and get into second year of BE/ B.Tech programmes. You can opt for civil engineering or any other branch you are interested in.
The second option is to take Section 'A' and Section 'B' examinations given by the Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE). The degree is treated on par with BE/ B.Tech programmes. The eligibility criterion is threeyear polytechnic diploma

No, Architecture is not required to pursue Interior Design course.
You can pursue any of these undergraduate courses:
-Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Interior Architecture Design
-Bachelor of Design in Interior Design
-Bachelor of Science in Interior Design
-Bachelor of Architecture in Interior Design
