IIIT Pune only offers two specialisations in M.Tech courses, namely, MTech in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) and M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Internet of Things). These courses are offered for the duration of two years and are divided into four semesters. While preparing cutoff for the IIIT Pune M.Tech course, the authorities will consider examination and admission-related factors. The listed factors will be checked and considered by the authorities while determining the cutoff of IIIT Pune M.Tech - previous years' cutoff trends, difficulty level of exam, total number of qualified candidates, total number of candidates applying for a specific course or institute, number of seats available for admission, etc. After checking all of these factors, the authorities will prepare the GATE cutoff for M.Tech admission.

IIIT Pune BTech M.Tech 2025 has not been released yet. However, if candidates compare the cutoff for the years 2023 and 2024 will find out that the closing rank for the M.Tech courses has been increased and the competition has decreased. Hence, the cutoff trend of M.Tech in CSE showcases a declining trend. Check out the below table to get a clear idea:

It is tough to compare which institute is easier to get admission into for M.Tech courses among IIIT Pune and IIITM Gwalior because the M.Tech admission process for both institute is almost the same, in which candidates are required to complete their BTech/ BE degree from recognised institute/ university, with a minimum of 60-75% and then candidates have to appear for the GATE entrance examination, followed by CCMT counselling.
Additionally, the number of M.Tech seats offered at IIIT Pune is 24, whereas at IIITM Gwalior it is 231. Hence, there could be a possibility that the institute with a lesser number of seats has tough competition

However, according to the current market situation opting for a specialisation within the field of CSE enhances the value of your BTech degree. To evaluate M.Tech programme affordability across institutions we must look at the complete tuition costs at both IIIT Pune and NIT Meghalaya.
IIIT Pune:
M.Tech students enrolled at IIIT Pune must pay a total tuition of Rs 2.21 Lacs for their coursework.
NIT Meghalaya:
Students enrolled in M.Tech programs at NIT Meghalaya pay tuition costs between Rs 69,500 and Rs 1.4 Lacs but IIIT Pune charges total fees starting at Rs 69,500 up to Rs 1.4 lakh.

IIIT Pune offers a four-year BTech course at the undergrauate level. IIIT Pune admission to the BTech course usually starts in the month of June after the JEE Mains exam result declaration. The final selection is based on the JEE Mains scores followed by JoSAA counselling. The centralised counselling process for offering admission to BTech is done through online mode. Selected candidates have to further report at the institute to complete formalities for admission confirmation.
