There are a very few IIMs which have CAT cutoff of 85 percentile. These are IIM Nagpur, IIM Amritsar and IIM Bodh Gaya. Since these IIMs have been launched in the last decade, the cut offs are low for admission to MBA/PGP courses. Reserved category students can apply with 85 percentile in most of the IIMs as the cut off for them is much lower in comparison to General category candidates.

No. IIM admissions are based on the CAT exam scores. More than 50 colleges accept NMAT scores for MBA/PGDM admissions, IIMs are not among the NMAT participating institutes. Admission to IIMs is not possible using NMAT scores. Top b-schools such as SVKMs NMIMS, XIM Bhubaneswar, KJ Somaiya, TAPMI, among others accept NMAT scores for admission. Candidates aiming for admission to IIMs must appear for CAT exam and meet the admission criteria, such as WAT, PI, etc.

CMAT score is not accepted by the IIMs. These institutes accept only CAT score for their management programmes. CMAT is accepted by over 1300 MBA colleges in India which belong to mostly Tier 2 and Tier 3 status. You can seek admission with CMAT score to all AICTE approved institutions – private, government and government aided.

Hi, the key differences between a BBA from IIMs, private colleges like NMIMS and government colleges like DU majorly lie in their reputation, ROI, admission criteria, placement opportunities, international collaborations, etc.
IIMs have higher reputation in comparison with government and private colleges
IIMS and private do have higher fees whereas government colleges offer affordable fees
IIMs have highly competitive entrance exams, private colleges also have their own entrance exams with a focus on extracurricular activities whereas government colleges provide admission based on merit or university specific entrance exams.

Hi!
There are many top MBA colleges in India that offer industry and business connections as well as the IIMs. Some of the top colleges like MDI Gurgaon, XLRI Jamshedpur, SPJIMR, NMIMS, etc. non-IIM colleges provide a better ROI and professional experience when compared with some of the newer baby IIMs. On a whole, some of these non-IIMs are on par with the IIMs in India.
