No. IIM admissions are based on the CAT exam scores. More than 50 colleges accept NMAT scores for MBA/PGDM admissions, IIMs are not among the NMAT participating institutes. Admission to IIMs is not possible using NMAT scores. Top b-schools such as SVKMs NMIMS, XIM Bhubaneswar, KJ Somaiya, TAPMI, among others accept NMAT scores for admission. Candidates aiming for admission to IIMs must appear for CAT exam and meet the admission criteria, such as WAT, PI, etc.

CMAT score is not accepted by the IIMs. These institutes accept only CAT score for their management programmes. CMAT is accepted by over 1300 MBA colleges in India which belong to mostly Tier 2 and Tier 3 status. You can seek admission with CMAT score to all AICTE approved institutions – private, government and government aided.

Hi, the key differences between a BBA from IIMs, private colleges like NMIMS and government colleges like DU majorly lie in their reputation, ROI, admission criteria, placement opportunities, international collaborations, etc.

IIMs have higher reputation in comparison with government and private colleges

IIMS and private do have higher fees whereas government colleges offer affordable fees

IIMs have highly competitive entrance exams, private colleges also have their own entrance exams with a focus on extracurricular activities whereas government colleges provide admission based on merit or university specific entrance exams.

Hi!
There are many top MBA colleges in India that offer industry and business connections as well as the IIMs. Some of the top colleges like MDI Gurgaon, XLRI Jamshedpur, SPJIMR, NMIMS, etc. non-IIM colleges provide a better ROI and professional experience when compared with some of the newer baby IIMs. On a whole, some of these non-IIMs are on par with the IIMs in India.

No, X-GMT (Xavier General Management Aptitude Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB) for admission to its MBA programs, including MBA in General Management and MBA in Business Analytics. IIMs and other top-tier B-schools in India typically do not accept X-GMT scores. They do accept other exams like CAT or GMAT.

The IIMs do not release separte application form for MBA admission. The CAT exam form released every year in August doubles up as the IIM admission form. Candidate have to select the IIM campuses of their choice in the CAT application form for admission registration. Candidates get shortlisted by the IIMs or WAT-PI round as per their score and institute selection.

CAT admit card is not sent to any candidate by post. Every candidate has to download their CAT hall ticket from the IIMCAT website by using their login credentials created at the time of exam registration. The announcement of release of CAT admit card is done by the exam convening IIM about 10-15 days before the exam. The CAT admit card release date is also shared beforehand so that candidates can download their admit cards in time.

No, direct admission is not valid at IIMS Pune. Admission to all the courses at the college is entirely entrance-based. Candidates can pursue full-time PGDM courses from IIMS Pune. Candidates seeking for admission must qualify for either CAT/ XAT/ CMAT or MAH CET entrance exam with a valid score. Later on, the final admission is done as per the performance of candidates in PI round.
