Yes — international students can study at very low cost in Italy, but it's not exactly “free” for everyone.

How it works

Public universities in Italy charge tuition, but it's quite low compared to other countries (often €500–€3,000 per year). On top of that, there are scholarships that can reduce this to almost zero.

Main ways to study for free (or nearly free)

1. Regional scholarships (DSU)

  • Available to international students
  • Based on family income (not just marks)
  • Can cover:
    • Full tuition fee waiver

There are various ways of cutting down on expenses if not studying in a tuition free university in Italy. These include opting for on-campus housing accommodations because they are cheaper, opt for public universities because they are also cheaper and cut down on one's personal expenses.

Yes, students can pay their fees in installments at the Marangoni Fashion School of Milano. To do that students need to request the finance department of the university.

Students may be required to satisfy some conditions for the same. After that, a payment schedule will be assigned, in line with which students can pay their fees.

It is not that hard. The Istituto Marangoni Milano acceptance rate is 80%. This means admissions are somewhat competitive. But, if students have a strong academic profile, they can very easily pursue higher studies here.

It is popular among international students for its fashion, design, and art programs.
