An unofficial source say, the University of Tokyo acceptance rate is 36%. The low percentage shows that the university is slight tough to enter. Students should know the basic admission eligibility and submit all the admission documents.

There is no fixed time for this. Time varies widely. But, reaching basic fluency (JLPT N4/N5) takes 6 months to 1 year of preparation. For achieving advanced proficiency, you need 3 to 5 years.

It is not mandatory for Indian students to learn Japanese to study in Japan. You can study here in English language. Yes, universities in Japan prefer candidates who are proficient in Japanese.

The best degrees are mostly in Robotics and Engineering because Japan is famous for machines. Computer Science and MBA is also very popular choice for international students. The Masters degree usually take 2 years to finish. Some business schools have 1 year MBA but mostly it is two years.

The cost is cheap compared to USA or UK. For National Universities the tuition fee is around ¥535,800 per year. If you go to Private University it is bit more expensive like ¥800,000 to ¥1,500,000 per year. You need money for living cost also maybe ¥100,000 every month for rent and food.

Yes Japan is a very good place for Masters. The universities like University of Tokyo is top class. It is safe country and you can find jobs easily in technology and engineering. You can study in English language also so no problem if you don't know Japanese. Also MEXT scholarship is there for students which pay for everything.
