Let's be honest, Japan is slightly more expensive than India. So yes, if you will compare to expenses in Indian cities. On the other hand, it is much cheaper than cost of living in any developed nation like USA and UK.

Tuition at national universities in Japan is nearly INR 3.2 to INR 3.5 Lakhs per year. Plus a one time admission fee of INR 1.6 Lakhs.

Private universities are more expensive. Ranges from INR 5 to INR 12 Lakhs annually. Depending on programme and location.

Waseda Japan is not known to accept tuition fees in installments. Students are required to pay fees at the start of each spring and fall semester. The fees is paid by automatic debit transfer from the 2nd semester onwards until graduation.
