JEE Mains is all about solving MCQs where profound knowledge is rarely required. Questions are mostly formula based and learning types but JEE advance calls for special preparation and 10 times more practice tests. You can score very well in JEE Mains if you are well versed with the class 11th and 12th syllabus and past years papers. But for JEE advance, you definitely need guidance from coaching and standard books.

Hello, every year, cut off is different for different course and also you will get admission or not is based on your categories. But, I can assure you that you can go to any Top IIT in any branch. Branch really won't matter that much. What I see here in IIT KGP is that mining engineers get placed in Goldman Sachs, while metallurgy engineers are CEO of Google. Just give your best in JEE and get as better college as you can. You can study any course being in any branch.

Hello Kritika,
I hope your preparation for JEE is going great.
In reference to your question, I will suggest you to go for the maximum. Do not aim for less. No matter which category you belong to. It's not like that you are from SC/ST, then you have to score less than others. No, it's not. There is something called self-satisfaction to crack JEE with your maximum capacity.
