In Maharashtra CAP counselling for Architecture and Engineering:
CRL (Common Rank List) is used for General category (open) seats.
EWS category rank is used for seats reserved under EWS quota.

With a JEE Main 2023 AIR of 110,428, chances for top NITs or IIITs are very low. You can aim for:
Lower-tier NITs – Some CSE/IT seats in later rounds.
GFTIs (Government-Funded Technical Institutes) – CSE, ECE, or EE branches may be available.
State engineering colleges via JoSAA – Seats in reserved/state quota likely.
Other branches like ECE, EE, Mechanical, Civil as backup options

Yes, it is quite achievable to get the ECE specialisation at IIITDM Kancheepuram with a rank of 7000 in JEE Main 2025 for the General AI category. Generally the closing ranks should range between 23099 to 29987. However the cutoff may vary depending on category.
