Here are the JEE Mains 2024 cutoff (Session 1):

  • General: 93+ (Top15-20k rank)
  • OBC: 80+
  • SC/ST: 50+

For NITs/IIITs:

  • Top NITs (Trichy/Surathkal): 95+ (Gen)
  • Mid NITs: 85+

State quotas might lower cutoffs as well. Session 2 (in April) might also take the cutoffs to change.

Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) Coimbatore does not accept JEE Mains scores for admission into B.E./B.Tech programs—its admissions are based solely on TNEA rank (Class 12th marks in Physics, Chemistry, Math) through Anna University, not on JEE Mains or JoSAA counseling.

With an 80.03 percentile in JEE Main Session 1, you may get admission in some state-level government engineering colleges, private colleges, or lower-tier NITs through home state quota (if cutoff allows). Core branches in top NITs or IIITs may not be possible. Consider state counseling options like MP DTE, MAH CET, or COMEDK.

Yes, you can get VNIT Nagpur with a cutoff rank of 40,000 if you belong to the General AI category. This category had an overall cutoff range between 617 and 52313

Students can also avail admission if they belong to the General HS quota, as the VNIT Nagpur JEE Main cutoff 2025 varied from 398 to 53434.

The cutoff was also released for other categories in both the quotas, but they will differ from each other.

Based on previous years' data, a score of 56 marks in JEE Main usually places students within the 70 to 80 percentile range. But there is very less chance that you get any good NIT for this percentile.

But for ST category you may get lower branch in lower NIT.

If you scored less than 75% in 12th but gave JEE Mains,

You can still get into NITs/IIITs if you're in your board's top 20 percentile

You can apply to private and state colleges, as most don't require 75%

You are not eligible for IITs

If aiming for IITs, consider improvement exams next year
