There are no branch-wise cutoffs in admissions of SIT during the counselling. You need to be physically present during the counselling as it is possible that the people who had a higher score in JEE Mains have usually secured a seat in some government college such as IITs or NITs and do not come for the counselling process of SIT. Hence, even if you have scored average in JEE Mains, there is a possibility of securing seats in the branch you desire.

But, personally I feel that IET-DAVV is best available option for you after IIT-I and MANIT in Madhya Pradesh. JEC is simply out of the race when compared to these two institutes. Now, I am going to make a comparison between IET and SGITS on following criteria:
1. ). Academics: As far as academics is concerned, no doubt SGITS is better than IET as it was established in 1952 so it has got a whole bunch of experienced Professors whereas talking about IET, the institute is just 20 years old and has actually carved a niche for itself

SGSITS is seeking the university status but is still under RGPV Bhopal, and so the degree is issued through RGPV.
