Hello,
There are certain institutions which conduct their own entrance exams. For instance, Punjab Agricultural University is one of those highly esteemed universities which offers great prospects in B.Tech food technology merely just with their CET exam. This is just that you need to search the institutions which offer B.Tech in food technology without JEE. But, if one is seeking for admission in IITs or NITs, then surely JEE is the way.
All the best.

State B.Tech admissions through JEE Mains: JEE Mains is one of the toughest engineering entrance exams to crack. Some are able to crack the test, while many lose the chance to grab a seat for B.Tech admission at NITs, IIITs, etc.

The process is same as that of a plus two student. Write the JEE and get a good rank. But it will be very difficult for a student from Diploma to write JEE. The reason is simple, you won't be studying all the subjects which are main for JEE. You will study one particular topic in Diploma, when coming to JEE the situation is different so there you need all the subjects and at the same time you will lose one year compared to all the other students because the Diploma course is for three years where as the plus two is two years.
LEET exam is conducted for Diploma holders who want to get admission in BE or B.Tech courses. This is national

Engineering doesn't work on 12th marks or a student who scores very high marks in any competitive exam. It's a feeling, a passion which only a few students have in their heart, or are passionate about it. If you're even a little bit interested in engineering, you'll definitely find your way in here, if not, don't waste your time and brain and go for B.Sc engineering is for the students having lots of guts and are ready to face anything. If you're the one, go for B.Tech, you can get admission in any private college of your choice.
