Candidates who have cleared Class XII or its equivalent from a recognised board fulfill Anna University eligibility criteria for UG courses. Candidate who have given any other examination (apart from JEE) of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent there to are also eligible to apply.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable by three years.
Counselling :-
Anna University admissions in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch courses are done through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling based on the marks obtained in 10+2.

Yes, you can go for B.Tech without appearing in JEE. Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Tech in most of the top universities is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with physics, mathematics and English) and you have to qualify some entrance test of the university.
