For JEE Mains, you have to follow the same process through which you appeared for the first time. But when you qualify JEE Mains and Advanced, you need to fill the application form to take admission in IITs or NITs, and at that time they will ask for your HSC marks and that should be greater than 75%. For JEE Mains and Advanced online exam, the application process is same.

In my opinion, better don't waste your time leaving the existing course and again preparing for JEE. If you have that much interest and dedication, prepare in parallel without leaving your present course.

Dropping a year will be well worth if you are determined that you will crack the entrance next time with good marks. Remember, you may regret about not giving entrance exam again only for 1 or 2 years; but there is a risk of decrease in marks next year if you didn't study well or your luck turns wrong. If you want to give a next chance, my opinion will be you should join a good coaching classes focusing admission in IITs or AIIMS. This will hold you set in regular studying. And select one best option, whether to give JEE or NEET.

If you are in general category, then you'll easily require more than 120 marks in JEE Mains.

Hi Mr. Akash,
As it is known that HBTI has been converted to a GFTI (Government Funded Technical Institute and became an autonomous university, HBTU. So in the year 2017, it was the first time that HBTU is seeking admission on the basis of the JEE Mains Rank. So I think this question is in everybody mind that What Rank is good enough to take in the HBTU with CSE branch? So according to me, if you wants to take CSE/IT then the cutoff Rank could be 30k - 35k. So, your son can easily get admission in here, acc. To me. As I heard from many friends of mine that HBTU is very nice college, even in UPTU it was always students first choice and

Hi Prajwal,
In 2018 Admission is through counselling based on the score obtained in JEE Advanced and 12th score of 75% marks. Seats Available :-
B.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) = 60
B.Tech. (Avionics) = 60
Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M. S. /M.Tech. ). = 20
For Gen category 20%, for OBC 18% and for SC/ST 10% in JEEadv to be eligible to get shortlisted for selection for admission, so more you score more chance to get selected for admission. First try to qualify in JEE main & then do hard to score decent marks, because there are limited seats in IIST. Hi Gaurav,
As I know about the admission eligibility criteria in MSU admission is only through counseling based on the rank obtained in Gujarat Common Entrance Test GUJCET and 12th class result. In previous year, You need to score about 95 score in GUJCET to get in and if you belong to SC or ST then you can achieve the same by about 85 to 90 marks. If we consider JEE score you can get in MSU by getting at least 130 to150 in JEE for general category students. For more details about MSU, Baroda you can visit to this link :-

Admission is through counselling conducted by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains for the 75% of the total seats. The remaining seats will be filled under management quota on the basis of first come first serve. Hence they do take admission through management quota apart from JEE rank.
