Try solving problems rather than getting answers. Work hard for hours. And the smartest though should be " just focus of solving a 6 hours paper well rather than fighting with 12 Lacs smart peoples. " If you solve that 6 hours papers, you'll ultimately beat that crowd.

Yes, it is very much possible to clear the IIT examination without doing a coaching in one year. You just have to focus on the course and clear the concept. And give regular practise examination. Continuous practise and hardwork will eventually make your way to IITs.
