With a JEE Main CRL rank of around 212,307, admission to top-tier NITs is unlikely. However, you may have a chance at newer or remote NITs, particularly under Home State (HS) quota or lesser sought-after branches.

Following JEE Main 2025 results, there will be two major admission processes that the Delhi-based aspirants will work with. Admission to the NITs, IITs (through JEE Advanced), IIITs and CFTIs is done by JoSAA across the country. Since you have an 85 percentile in JEE Mains, and belong to the SC category, you stand a good chance of admission in most NITs, as the SC cutoff (whose minimum qualification will be around 60-65 percentile in 2024) is much lower than that of the non-SC category. Core branches may find it hard to secure admission to top ranked NITS comfortably, you have a high chance of securing it in most newer NITs (such as NIT Agartala, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Sikkim, NIT Puducherry) and even some mid-tier NITs (such as NIT Durgapur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Raipur), though. In case of B.Tech college level admissions at Gauhati University (GU), JEE Main-rank and Assam CEE rank are mandatory, in addition to the fulfillment of 10+2 academic qualification. Admission of the college does not depend only on 12 th percentile. A combination of these national and state level entrance exams is what fills up seats at the university.
