Having a percentile of 79.4 in the JEE Mains, it is very tough to get a CSE seat in the top NITs and IIITs for the general category. But you have good prospects in some well ranked private universities, GFTIs (in the later rounds) and state government colleges. Following is the list of the Chandigarh CSE colleges in India accepting JEE Main score with their tuition fees –
Top CSE Colleges in India | Tuition Fee |
|---|---|
INR 12.24 lakh | |
INR 12.8 lakh | |
INR 19 lakh | |
INR 22.42 lakh | |
INR 22 lakh |

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional options exist.
College Options in Tamil Nadu
Government Colleges (Anna University Affiliated)
- College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Chennai – Highly competitive; ECE/EEE cutoff usually <30k rank, so difficult.
- PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore – Strong placements in ECE/EEE; cutoff ~50k–70k, borderline but possible in later rounds.
- Thiagarajar College of Engin

With your rank, getting Mechanical or Electrical at UIET KUK is very unlikely.
Mechanical may be possible only if cutoff increases in the final rounds (not guaranteed).
JEE Main Rank: 3.1 Lacs (CRL)
OBC Rank: 1.1 lakh

With 77 percentile in JEE Main, your rank is around 2.5–3 lakh, which makes admission in IITs/NITs unlikely, but you have realistic chances in government engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh through UPSEE/AKTU counseling and state quota seats.
Government Engineering Colleges in Uttar Pradesh (Possible at ~77 percentile)
Major State Government Colleges
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur
- Strong in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical.
- CSE/ECE usually require higher percentile, but other branches are possible.

Yes, with a JEE Main percentile of 95.816, you are on the borderline but have a realistic chance of securing B.Tech CSE at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore under Slab 1 (the lowest fee slab), especially as an OC General girl from Telangana. However, competition is very high, and admission depends on seat availability and whether you apply through JEE Main or AEEE.
Amrita Coimbatore – CSE Cutoff (2025–2026)
| Exam | Cutoff Range (CSE) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| JEE Main Percentile | 92–97 percentile | Your 95.816 percentile fits within this range. |
| JEE Main Rank | 10,000–20,000 (approx.) | Your rank should be within this band for CSE. |
| AEEE Percentile | 95–99.5 percentile (Other State) | Higher competition; Coimbatore requires top scores. |
Admission Chances for You
- Percentile (95.816): Within cutoff band for CSE at Coimbatore.
- Category (OC General): No reservation benefit, so competition is tougher.
- State (Telangana – Other State quota): Cutoff
