Hello Mohammed Mudassir, admissions in IIT's are based on performance in JEE Advanced. But one can appear for JEE Advanced only if the ranking is good in JEE Mains. Thus we can safely say that for getting admission in IIT, one must score well in JEE Mains as well as JEE Advanced. Best wishes to you.

The state government Colleges and private colleges in Trichy will not ask for JEE score. They will ask state level exam marks or board exam marks.

Rank does not matter here. You must clear the category wise cutoffs for applying for JEE Advanced.
