JEE is not required to take admission in aeronautical engineering branch in MIT madras. You have to score good marks in TNEA entrance exam to get a seat in MIT.

You have to score equal to or more than the cutoff in either phase whether in january or in april to sit for JEE advance exam. Best of two phase is considered and it you score good then chances are there that you sit for JEE advance exam.

If you wish to do that then you can prepare simultaneously with full concentration. As the college life is full of new things, new environment, society, friend circle keep in touch with that being social is not wrong but you must keep this in mind that you are preparing for tough exam so be focused and prepare hard.
