GATE is not compulsory everywhere, but it is strongly recommended for the best colleges. Admission to top M.Tech colleges in Bangalore commonly requires qualifying exams such as GATE or Karnataka PGCET. Some colleges also arrange their own entrance examinations, and a few M.Tech colleges in Bangalore provide direct admission based on merit. For IISc and IIIT Bangalore, GATE is absolutely mandatory. For VTU-affiliated private colleges, Karnataka PGCET is the main route, and some private colleges do offer direct/management quota admission without any entrance exam.

No, according to the IIT Dharwad MSc cutoff 2026 for the third round, you cannot get into this college. For the General AI category, the round 3 closing rank was 708.
But you can get into IIT Goa in the third round. This college had the 3rd round cutoff of 775 for the General AI category.
Students can also wait for the next rounds of counselling to release. The cutoff in later rounds might be more accommodating.

It is very important and should never be ignored. Before taking admission, check for nursing schools INC approval. INC refers to Indian Nursing Council, which is a national regulatory body for nursing education in India. Nursing colleges not approved by INC will make your degree invalid. Therefore, you cannot register with the Karnataka State Nursing Council - otherwise you can't work as nurse in India or take exams abroad. It is recommended to check for INC acceptance from official INC website itself without paying any money or signing any document with the nursing school.

The chances are limited but not impossible if you prepare well. There is only 1 government nursing college in Mangalore, which is the Mangalore College of Nursing. The intake for B.Sc Nursing at this government nursing college is 60 students per year. Since there are only 60 seats and Lacs of students appear for NEET in Karnataka, the competition for government seats is very high. To improve your chances, you need a good NEET score and a good rank in the KEA counselling. SC/ST students have relaxed cutoffs. If you miss the government seat, many private colleges in Mangalore offer good value for money with strong training and placement
