Hello, Engineering courses are Four year in total, if you have opted for second year-lateral entry then for you engineering course is of 3 year in total. If you are a Diploma holder in engineering, then you can look forward with Lateral Entry in Mechatronics. Few of the leading universities that offer this course are IIT, NIT, DTU, LPU, VIT, SRM and few more. You have not write about your Diploma stream like Civil engineering, Interior design or Architectural etc. However if you have completed your 3 years of Diploma in Civil engineering, Interior design or Architectural, than you can get lateral admission in LPU in B. Des or B.Sc. (Interior and Furniture) courses.

Yes there are chances that the candidate can change the stream from one to another but you should come from 12th to B.Tech. This could be possible when the candidate is in 1st year. Once you enter into 2nd year, you can not change the Parallels H-Sphere stream. As Second year deals with specialisation. To conclude, I am so sorry to say, it is not possible to shift branch from one to another after your Diploma. If you wish to join in B.Tech after Diploma, you have to study in the same stream which you completed in Diploma. Good luck.
