Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, has pioneered India's engineering education and research as it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia. The college offers a full-time undergraduate B.Tech. in nine specializations.
Admissions to VJTI, Mumbai are strictly based on merit only through on-line centralised admission process.
For admission to B.Tech. in Computer Engineering (Lateral Entry), the eligibility criteria are:
A diploma course in engineering and technology in a relevant stream must be completed with a minimum of 45% marks from an All India Council for Technical Education-approved institution or its equivalent.
Or the candidate must have completed a B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from a UGC-recognized university and passed 10+2 with mathematics as a subject.
Candidates must register for the centralized admission process of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, by visiting the official website of MHT-CET and filling in the required information.
An admit card will be issued to all the eligible candidates with all the details about the entrance test.
After the CET, VJTI will issue a merit list for all the courses, which is published on the official website of the college under the Admission Portal.
Students whose marks are on the merit list can visit the college with all their documents for further admission processing.
The merit list, consisting of the names and aggregate percentage of successful candidates in different categories, is yet to be published.

Dear aspirant, Admission in B.Tech Lateral Entry programmes offered by engineering institutes is done on the basis of entrance exams. Different institutes consider different entrance exams. Most of the regional government and private colleges take admission on the basis of state entrance exams. Some deemed universities and autonomous institutes might conduct their own entrance exam for admission to B.Tech LE programmes offered by them. The B.Tech lateral entry admission to various colleges is done on the basis of various state level lateral entry exams like Andhra Pradesh ECET, TS ECET UPSEE lateral entry, JELET, etc. Candidates who wish to take B.Tech lateral admission in government colleges need to appear for these lateral entry entrance examinations. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of B.Tech lateral entry admission before applying.
