It is 100% right.There is no difference between latereal entry b.tech and vertical entry b.tech.If you take admission through vertical entry after higher secondary you have to persue four year B.tech course and if you take admission through lateral entry you have to persue three year B.tech course.
Moreover,lateral entry is not available in NITs or IITs after diploma, if u want to join NITs or IITs then you have to appear for jee main which is vertical entry mode.
And NERIST, SLIET are the good university for lateral entry to persue B.tech.
So,choose wisely.

You can take admission in Amrita Vishwa vidyapeetham Coimbatore campus
Coimbatore. You can join god lateral entry but you need to pay extra fee for it but it's a best college you can join.
