As far as my knowledge is concerned, there is no lateral entry (directly begin from 2nd year) in B.Tech AMU. Check the eligibility criteria for the entrance test here:
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of this University or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Or,
Diploma in Engineering of this University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Hello Swapnil,
Punjab Engineering College is now a Deemed to be university which has a very long history. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about admission procedure for engineering in this college, but I am afraid I could find no where the link for information about lateral admission. It can only mean that this Deemed to be university is not interested in giving admissions in lateral mode. I will request you also to go to the link and let me know if you can find anything to the contrary of what I have said about. http://pec.ac.in/admissions/btech
Best wishes to you.

Admission in B.Tech LE programmes offered by engineering institutes is done on the basis of entrance exams. Different institutes consider different entrance exams. Most of the regional government and private colleges take admission on the basis of state entrance exams. Some deemed universities and autonomous institutes might conduct their own entrance exam for admission to B.Tech LE programmes offered by them.
