Candidates who have completed Bachelor degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions (or equivalent) with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) can apply for the M.Tech course. Additionally, candidate should be an Indian National having domicile in Maharashtra state. Admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score.

IIITM Gwalior cutoff for M.Tech course is based on GATE scores followed by the CCMT Counselling, which was concluded with Round 6. According to the IIITM Gwalior cutoff for Round 6 in 2023, the closing scores for all M.Tech specialisations ranged from 393 to 350. M.Tech. in Cyber Security and Cyber laws closed at 374, followed by M.Tech. in Wireless Networking and Computing with closing score of 359 and M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems with 350. Candidates who are seeking admission 2024 to IIITM Gwalior M.Tech course must have a valid GATE score.
